Laura Leigh Reed, 47, of Morganton, NC went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, November 6, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1975 in Shelby County, Tennessee to the late Raymond Hailey and Sharon Bislick Gatlin (John Gatlin). She was a member of First Apostolic Church of Morganton. First and foremost, she was the best wife and mother and devoted her days to their well-being and happiness. Laura was a very good decorator, cook and hostess. She loved travelling and gathering with family and friends. She was also a great listener and loved to laugh. Laura was the first to offer prayers and embodied the meaning of life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Annie Warren; and her “NaNa”, Laura Bislick.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jason Reed; son, Jake Reed; mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Stiley (Tommy); sister-in-law, Donna Silvers (Jeremy) and their children, Dillon Johnson (Mikayla), Destiny Holman (Dustin), Luke Fisher and Ben Fisher; brother-in-law, Jeremy Reed (Lauren) and their daughter, Josie Reed; uncle, Alton Warren, Sr.; cousins, Alton Warren Jr. (Jennifer) and their children, Madison and Susanna Warren, Donnie Warren (Alanna) and daughter, Hallee Warren, Alaina Harwood (Steve) and their children, Josee Reagh (Lee) and Presley Reagh.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Saturday, November 12, 2022 at First Apostolic Church. The service will begin at 2:00pm in the church with Pastors David Bridges and Douglas Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in the Ernie Mac Reed Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Apostolic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
