Larry Rodger Throneburg, 84, of Morganton, NC, gained his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Born in Caldwell County, NC on October 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Rodger Vowell Throneburg and Fay Rhodes Throneburg.
Larry was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a charter member of Chesterfield Ruritan. He loved working on cars, enjoyed NASCAR racing, and owned and operated Throneburg Auto Repair for over 56 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Helen “Gail” Duncan Throneburg; daughter, Kimberly Throneburg; grandchildren, Allison and Hannah Throneburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sons, Larry Rodger Throneburg, II and Roy Randall Throneburg; sister, Nancy Carolyn Throneburg; and a brother, David Gary Throneburg.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Rev. Kevin Sizemore and Rev. J.R. Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was always kind and friendly to me. I enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed, especially by Richard, who always referred to him as simply "Uncle".
