Larry Randall Childers, 51, of Connelly Springs, NC died Sunday, November 22, 2015. Born in McDowell County, NC on October 28, 1964, he was the son of Charlie Raye Patton Childers of Nebo, NC and the late James Harrison Childers. Larry was a member of Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Childers is survived by his wife, Donna Derrick of the home; sons, Randall Derrick and David Clark, both of Connelly Springs; a daughter, Lexis Childers of Connelly Springs; step-children, Jessie, Lisa, and Billy Mae McPeters; grandchildren, Destiny, Morgan, and Katelyn McPeters; brothers, Ralph Childers of Marion, NC, Jimmy Martin of Nebo, NC, Bobby Martin of Lake Hartwell, GA, and Carrol Martin of Nebo; and sisters, Doris Woody of Nebo, Karen Walden of Asheville, NC, and Cristal Morrow of Kings Mtn., NC.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Broudas Martin.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at the church at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Causby and the Rev. Roger Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nebo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to Donna Derrick, 3699 Baptist Camp Road, Connelly Springs, NC 28612 to help with expenses.
