Larry James Hord, 71, of Vale passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 23, 1948, he was the son of the late James Ben Hord and Jessie Ruth Noles Hord. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, an avid reader, and enjoyed running and biking.
He is survived by his wife, Kathie Skinner Hord of the home; children, Jennifer Ashley Hildebran (Terry) and Matthew Tyler Hord (Terese); grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Jandrew (Ethan), Alex Scott Hildebran, Madalyn Faye Hord, and Liam James Hord; mother-in-law, Lucille Blosser and his Indiana family; and his NC family.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery Hord.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local humane societies.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
