I only learned of Larry's passing today (06/30/25) from our mutual friend Arnold Barrett. Both Larry (I always called him Joe) and Arnold and I were room mates at Western Carolina University in the early 60's. Larry was usually a quiet person, but he was always thinking. Both Larry and Arnold rode home with me several times since I lived near Lenoir and passed near where they lived. I am so glad Larry and I met for lunch a few years back. It was the last time I saw him. I wish we had kept more frequent contact. Larry was a great person who got along with everybody. I'm so sorry we lost him, and I didn't know his family but would like to extend my condolences to all.
Please pass along my sincere condolences to Charlotte and other family members. Larry was a very kind man who I met when he and my father were in the Lions Club together. Your family has been in my prayers.
I have learned of the passing Joe / Larry Courtney . He was a kind and gentle person and I feel honored to have known him. We were roommates at Western Carolina and kept in touch ever since. He was dedicated to the class of ‘62 Glen Alpine. My thoughts go out to Charlotte and Christal. I will surely miss him. He was always the smartest guy in class (the girls were smarter) and he stood out in college too. When you had questions about calculus, or chemistry you went to Joe. Where ever he went he made things better.

So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. As a kid I lived across the street from Joe. He and my brother James were classmates and tri-cap
Larry had been our neighbor and friend for the last 15 years. He was a great man and would do anything for people. There needs to be more people like him in this world. Larry was one of a kind and will be missed. I can picture him with Sandy right now at a Denny’s high in the sky.

Larry, I didn't know you, but I know Crystal and you and Sandra did great. She is something special, which means you guys are too. I'm glad you are home with your beloved, but I'm sad this world is missing you. Sorry we never met, but thank you for Crystal. Radley

My condolences to your family. What a wonderful man you were. Heaven has taken another Angel home.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a parent. It's okay to be sad and to grieve. Your dad was a wonderful man and I know how much he meant to you all, words can’t express how difficult this must be, please know I’m here for you during this tough time. You never have to feel alone hunny bunny. May his gentle and sweet soul continue to rest in the blossom of the lord
