Kevin Clyde Tallent, 64, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Born in Burke County, NC on July 21, 1959, he was the son of the late Thomas Clyde Tallent and Aileen Epley Tallent.

Kevin was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and was owner of Foothills Plumbing Services. He will always be remembered by his avid love for the outdoors and his ability to make people laugh. Kevin will be missed by many, including, friends, customers, and neighbors.

A beloved husband and father, Mr. Tallent is survived by his wife, Amy Tallent; daughters, Kaitlyn Tallent and Michelle Raymond; sons, Jeremy and Jay Raymond; aunt, Mary Tallent; and cousins, Becky Gayler, Jane Tallent, Sharon Robinson, Kenny Epley, Patti Cornell, Rita Isaacson, Rex Carpenter, and Jim Tallent.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by aunts and uncles: Helen and Dale Gayler, Alton Tallent, Barbara and Jerome Epley, Cecil Tallent, Frances Carpenter, and Hazel and Ed Dennehy; and his favorite dachshunds, Truckee and Freck.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

amy, i was talking to joe proctor yesterday afternoon and he informed me that kevin had passed away. i am sorry that you and his daughter have to go thru this and wish i had found out sooner so i could have attended the funeral. i worked with kevin on jobs for years and thought a lot of him. he will be missed by all of those who knew him. hope time eases your sorrow, john smith
