Committal
Kenneth “Warren” Benfield, 75, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
Born in Burke County, NC on September 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Noah Jacob Benfield and Margaret Louise Whisnant. Warren was a faithful, 75-year member of Zion Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Benfield was a first-rate storyteller, a people person, and loved to volunteer in the community. He also enjoyed golfing, billiards, and was a pool shark.
A family man, Warren is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Brittain Benfield; daughter, Jennifer Benfield Carlisle (Travis); granddaughter, Sydney Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Benfield.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Zion Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Keith Rose officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Project Challenge, 7548 B Hwy 19 E, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
