Kenneth Tilmon Riddle, 73, of Conley Road, Morganton, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at Grace Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Tilmon was born, May 21, 1933, in Yancey County to the late Ed and Sally Edwards Riddle. He was a graduate of Bald Creek High School in Burnsville, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Tilmon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His quiet and gentle spirit will be sorely missed. He was a self employed owner and operator of numerous business throughout the area.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mae Miller and Mary Emma Anglin; brothers, Lee, Ray , Buster, and Jay Riddle.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Dale Riddle, of the home; sons, Kenneth Edward Riddle and wife Kathie, Gregory Dale Riddle and wife Beverly and Chuck Eric Riddle and wife Angela all of Morganton;; grandchildren, Jessica Bryant and husband Charles, Jarred Riddle of Shaw Air Force Base, SC, Eric Riddle, Trevor Riddle, Suanna Riddle, Chelsea Riddle and Trent Riddle; and great grandchildren, Taylor and Bailey Bryant; brothers Ted and Ben Riddle both of Morganton, and Glen Riddle of Marion, NC.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dewey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M., at the church. At other times the family will be at the home, 1027 Conley Road, Morganton, NC.
