Kenneth Ray Walker, 47, of Morganton passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 23, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on December 13, 1970, he was the son of the late Lee Roy Walker and Kathleen Shook Walker.  Kenneth was a member of Crosslink Church and Salem United Methodist Church.  He had worked at Grace Hospital and as a yard groomer.  He volunteered with the Oak Hill Fire Department and Burke County EMS.

Kenneth is survived by Mildred W. Hawkins (who was like a mother to him); half-sister, Karen “Susie” Buchanan of Glen Alpine; wife, Kopper Duckworth of Lenoir and her son, Trey Crowe; aunts, Carolyn Cook, Wanda Berry, and Carolyn Peagler; uncle, Joe Brown Shook; cousins, Reba Perkins, Rhonda Beane, Bo Walker, Steve McGalliard, and Ricky Cook; and fiancée, Shannon Johnson of Marion.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lee Roy Walker.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jonathan Reece officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
