Kenneth Howard Morrison, Sr.

Kenneth Howard Morrison, Sr., 72, of Morganton, NC died Friday, September 19, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on September 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Willie Webb Morrison and Annie Clontz Morrison. He was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and Winston-Salem Barber College. Kenneth enjoyed fishing and golfing in his spare time.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his son, Kenneth Morrison, Jr. and his wife, Mandy, of Morganton; grandchildren, Taylor Glenn and Kenna Glenn; a great-granddaughter, Karlee Glenn; brothers, Carl Morrison and his wife, Doris, of Morganton, Ralph Morrison and his wife, Emma, of Glen Alpine, NC, and Bob Morrison of Morganton; sisters, Dorothy Brittain and her husband, Verlie, of Valdese, and Eloise McLean of Morganton; a number of nephews and nieces; and many lifelong friends.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Earleen Waters Morrison; and a brother, Glenn Morrison.
The memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Reverends Donald Lovelace and Michael Gantt officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence.
