Kenneth Earl “KenBen” Buchanan, 34, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Born in Burke County, NC on October 20, 1989, he was the son of Billy Ray Buchanan and Doris Ann Chapman Francis.

Kenneth was a member of The Rising Church. He had worked at Triangle Heating and Air and V.S.A. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, cross country racing, and prospecting for gold. He loved his family and had a heart of gold.

Kenneth is survived by his parents, Doris Ann Francis (Ronald) and Billy Ray Buchanan (Terri); brothers, Adam Buchanan (Misty), Brandon Buchanan, Steven Francis, and Ben Francis; sisters, Brandi Buchanan, Shelli Mayfield, and Chenise Yates; maternal grandmothers, Shirley Chapman and Patty Francis; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024 at The Rising Church. The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the church with Bishop Barry Camp and Pastor Curtis Carroll officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
