Keith Wakefield

Keith "Chuck" Wakefield, 67, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on June 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Lee Mack Wakefield and Evelyn Charlotte Morris Wakefield Harris.

Keith served as a medic in the US Army and was a strong Trump supporter. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family. He was a friendly, generous, and intelligent guy who loved the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory include his nieces and nephews, Jackie Wakefield, Joy Wakefield Finney (Jason), Josh Wakefield, and Blair Wakefield; several great-nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Sam Proffitt.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his four brothers, David Morris Wakefield, Lee Wakefield, Barry Joe Wakefield, and Alan Ray Wakefield.

The cryptside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the NC National Guard.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
