Kathryn Patton Pollard, 75 of Morganton, NC passed away, Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born on November 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ruth Patton. Kathryn was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She graduated from Glen Alpine High School in 1969. Kathryn retired with 30 years of service from Western Carolina Center as an administrative assistant. Kathryn enjoyed working in her flowerbed, taking care of all of her flowers. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. She loved her cats, going on beach trips during the summer, going on road trips with her loved ones, but most of all, she loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family and being around family.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold “Hicks” Pollard Jr.; son, Damon Pollard (Julie); grandsons, Dr. Pate Pollard, DVM (Savannah), Burke Pollard (Madeline), Avery Pollard (Clara); sisters, Frances Maynor (Doug), Kay Maynor; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, Garland, and Phillip Patton.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm, Monday, June 2, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral will follow in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Gantt officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
