Katherine Rebecca Carswell, 96, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Born in Burke County, NC on May 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joe Orders and Carrie Bryant Orders.
Katherine loved her family and loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, working puzzles, and collecting glass bottles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mary C. Avery; grandson, Joe and Barry Avery; and sisters, Jean, Janet, Barbara, and Linda.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by sisters, Libby and Mary Joe; and a brother, Lee Harrison.
Services for Katherine will be private.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
