Judy Katherine Mayo, 84, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
Born in Letcher County, KY on April 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William Fields and Cordia Knight Fields.
Judy enjoyed making children’s clothing, especially for her family. She was a very creative person who enjoyed quilting and going to craft shows.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Bruce Mayo; son, Floyd A. Erskine; daughter, Deborah L. Erskine; granddaughters, Carrie E. Foster (Christpher Hungerford), Sarah Foster, Emily Foster, Katie Foster, and Molly Miller; great-grandchildren, Mason Hungerford, Ethan Hungerford, and Ellie Vertuchi; and a brother, David L. Fields.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
