Judy Dockery Lowdermilk

Judy Dockery Lowdermilk, 70, of Glen Alpine, NC died Tuesday, August 20, 2013. She was born in Burke County on October 16, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Wayne Calvin Dockery and Gladys Louise Orders Dockery. Judy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Morganton and was also a member of the Mimosa Chapter of the Eastern Star.Judy is survived by her husband, Larry Lowdermilk of the home; her children, Larry "Byron" Lowdermilk of Morganton, Rodney Wayne Lowdermilk and his companion, Angie Whitt, of Raleigh, and Tara Lowdermilk Conrad and her husband, Scott, of Morganton; her sister, Becky Davis and her husband, Ronnie of West Virginia; grandchildren, Jonathan, Steven, Taylor, Kyle, and Lindsey Lowdermilk, and Willow and Scout Conrad; and by six great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the chapel thirty minutes before the funeral hour.
