Judy Carrol Mace, 74, of Morganton went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 2, 2021. Born in Scott County, VA on August 15, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Grigsby and Beulah Cavin Grigsby. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and traveling to the mountains. However, she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family.
Judy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Mace; daughter, Leigh Ann Mace; grandchildren, Spencer Smallwood (Lily) and Nicholas Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Raven and Melody Smallwood; sister, Bertha Redman; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her beloved dog, Jack.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Grigsby.
No services are scheduled for Judy.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
