Juanita Fox Gibbs, 82, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Yancey County, NC on March 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Fox and Lydia Wright Fox. Juanita worked as a CNA and also at various factories.
Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her son, Phillip Gibbs and his wife, Wanda, of Morganton; grandchildren, Travis Gibbs and Krystal Gibbs and her husband, Benjamin Houk; great-grandchildren, Chase Gibbs and Skarlett Houk; four brothers; and three sisters.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Gibbs, Jr.; two brothers; and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 14 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC with the Rev. Bud Harmon officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
