Juan Confesor Salas, 74, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Puerto Rico on August 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Jesus Salas and Maria Isabel Perez. Juan attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.He is survived by his daughters, Anna Elisa Salas of Puerto Rico, Maria Salas of Cleveland, OH, Iluminada Salas of Morganton, and Marisol Pená of Granite Falls, NC; and grandchildren, Manuel Garcia of Morganton and Angela Garcia of Akron, OH.
In addition to his parents, Juan was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Lucy Pená; a son, Manuel Salas; and a daughter, Peaguita Pená.No services are planned for Mr. Salas.Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
