Joyce Ann E Reece, 86 of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, August 29, 2025. Born on January 26, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Julia Elliot. Joyce worked as a CNA at many different nursing homes, where she loved taking care of others. She graduated from Pleasant Gardens High School in 1957. Joyce loved her family very much.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Ray Reece, Jr. (Jackie), Sam Reece, and Mark Reece; grandchildren, Shawn Reece and Brandon Reece (Allison); great-grandchildren, Lawson Reece, Grayson Reece, and Lane Reece; and sister, Jean McMahan.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Edward Reece.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Miss Joyce trained me as a C.N .A. at one of the facilities.I have been a C.N.A. since 1986 until now Such a wonderful teacher and sister in Christ.
