Josh Willis, 27, of 20th Ave. Dr., NE, Hickory, NC died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Rowan Memorial Hospital in Salisbury, NC. He was born March 21, 1978 in Sycamore, Illinois, and was the son of Judy Fruend Sims of Hickory and Randy Willis of Rockford, IL. Josh was the former bar manager of Thumpers in Morganton, and a waiter at Yanni’s Restaurant.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by sons, Bishop and Jeshua, both of Hickory; his step-father, Keith Kirby of Wisconsin; brothers, Ben "Bubba" Willis and wife Dani, and Joseph Jacob Sims, all of Hickory; grandparents, Raymond and Carol Beauxis of Morganton; uncles, Steve and Henry Thomas, both of Greenville, SC, Hank and Robbie Thomas, both of Dallas, TX, Michael Fruend and Rebecca, Berry George and wife, Peggy, all of Morganton; special friends, Lori Cuthbertson of Morganton, and Geinse Jackson of Marion, NC; and number of close friends and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Glen Alpine Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Chase officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 until 3:30 pm at Sossoman Funeral home.
