Joseph "Alan" Lail

Joseph "Alan" Lail, 53, of Morganton, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home. He was born in Burke County on October 14, 1959 and is the son of Vernie Hoyle Lail of Morganton and the late Joseph Vance Lail. He was employed with Broughton Hospital in the Medical Records Department. He was the head coach of the 2004 Morganton Little League team that went to the Little League World Series.In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Joseph Dillon Lail of Southside, AL; daughters, Jilliene Lail Gomez and Tai Lail, both of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Mark Lail of Morganton; a number of cousins; and his canine companion, "Lady."A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Larry Cline officiating.
