John Charles “Johnny” Hairfield, 95, formerly of Morganton died Monday, August 10, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on June 7, 1920, he was the son of the late Edward Hairfield and Elizabeth Taylor Hairfield. John was a U.S. Army veteran of the Pacific Theater of WWII. He was awarded three bronze stars. He owned and operated White House Antiques in Morganton and enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques.
Mr. Hairfield is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Hairfield Adams of Charleston, SC; and brothers, Joe Hairfield and his wife, Orael, of Morganton and Ted Hairfield of Cary, NC.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Fox Hairfield; brothers, Beverly, Jim, and Ed Hairfield; and a sister, Elizabeth Schaeffer.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.
