John “Tim” Brown, 62, of Hickory, NC passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024. He was born on December 18, 1961 in Cleveland County to John Walter Brown and the late Shirley Ann Ledford Brown. Tim was a veteran of the US Navy. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and sports.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Claude and Elgie Ledford; paternal grandparents, Solan and Mary Brown; maternal aunt, Nancy Ferguson.

Tim is survived by his sons, Jonathan Brown (Cassie) and Brent Fulbright; grandchildren, Blake Brown and Madilyn Brown; father, John Brown (Pamela); siblings, Wendy Huffman, Rocky Brown (Jonna), Richard “Rick” Brown (Teresa), Johnny Brown; nieces and nephews, Kala Brown, Cory Brown, Chasity Ward, Nikki Huffman, Jeremy Huffman, Julie Huffman and Kale Brown; great-nieces and nephews, Grady, Logan and Collins.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, Friday, January 12, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:45pm at the Chapman Cemetery on Baptist Camp Rd, Connelly Springs. Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy and Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I knew Tim and the Brown family a lot of years, went through a lot with them to, life, death's. They always been like a family to me and always will. I can't believe Tim's gone to be with our lord. But there's no more pain or suffering. My heart goes out to his father and the brothers that are left and his sister Wendy may God be with you all and ease your pain. Love always and forever Jackie
