Joe Ben Cline, 90, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on May 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph Eli Cline and Blanch Walker Cline.

Joe was a veteran of the US Army, retired from Broughton Hospital after 30 years of service, and was a member of Bethel Global Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Faye E. Miller Cline; sons, Joseph Cline (Julia) and Perry Cline (Pam); granddaughters, Jessica Hagen (Cameron), Leah Haynes (Landon), Anna Cline (Alex McGee), and Peyton Cline; great-grandchildren, Conrad Haynes, Emmalyn Haynes, Fields McGee, Gemma Hagen, Roman Hagen, and Philip Hagen; and sisters-in-law, Betty Cline and Ruth Cline.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill (Ruby), Vernon (Dorothy), Max, Ned (Juanita), Fred, and Glenn Cline; sister, Barbara Watts; and an infant sister.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2026 at Bethel Global Methodist Church on Bethel Road. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Rev. Steve Parker and Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Global Methodist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I send condolence to those left to cherish the memory of Joe Ben. We grew up together on Bethel Road. We were cousins. His sister Barbara Ida was my age.
