JoAnn Ratcliff Loggins, 79, of Hickory, NC, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin on January 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Roy William Ratcliff and Barbara Grabill Ratcliff.

JoAnn was an active member of North Morganton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the bereavement group, the women’s group, and the New Horizon Sunday School Class. JoAnn was a 1963 graduate of Drexel High School and earned her associate degree in accounting from Western Piedmont Community College. She worked as an accounting clerk for several Morganton business. She was an avid animal lover.

A loving mother, and grandmother, JoAnn is survived by beloved granddaughter, Maranda Seagle; sisters, Susan Ratcliff, Deb Bianchi (Tony), and Velda Kibler (Dave); brother, Bill Ratcliff (Beverly); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her sons, Christopher William Seagle, David Allen Seagle, and Brian Scott Seagle; daughter, Mary Ann Seagle; and sister, Patricia Ratcliff.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024 at North Morganton United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rorie officiating. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Morganton United Methodist Church Building Fund, 990 Sanford Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
