Jo Ann Greer Herron

Jo Ann Greer Herron, 92, of Glen Alpine, NC departed to her Heavenly home on Monday, June 29, 2026. She was born on June 4, 1934, in Burke County to the late James Clayton Greer and Mable Pearl Greene Greer. She was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. Jo Ann retired from Vocational Rehabilitation at Broughton Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Herron; son-in-law, Buddy Fisher; brother, Ronald C. Greer; sisters, Azalee Wilson and Mildred Perkins; and grandson, Barry Fisher.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Kevin Herron and wife, Becky, Rodney Herron and wife, Tammy, Karen Herron Stiles and husband, Greg, and Daleleen Herron Fisher; grandchildren, Colt Herron, Perry Milligan, Lee Herron, Curtis Stiles, Matthew Stiles, Jason Dobson, and Elijah Fisher; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank a very special caregiver, Trish Coleman, for many years of loving care and friendship.

A graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2026 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery with Chaplain Stephanie Pace presiding. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall following the service.
