Jimmy Dean Ross, 64, of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 14, 2025 and went to his Heavenly home.
Born in Burke County, NC on October 7, 1960, he was the son of the late James Albert Ross and Zula Alice Powell Ross. Jimmy was a veteran of the US Army. He was a devoted husband who fiercely loved his wife. He adored all his family and spoiled them all. Jimmy loved doing anything outdoors with his little dog, Punkin. He also loved taking drives around the lake and visiting the cabin his father build.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Sharon Meek Ross; daughter, Janie Ross Beam; son, Stephen Ross (Leslie); grandchildren, Haley Ambrose, Tyler Whisenant, Emma Ross, and Lillie Ross Leonard (Ben); great-grandchild, Nash Henry Leonard; brother, David Ross (Ann); sister, Chris Meek; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Reeves; and brother, Dennis Allen Ross.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine with Rev. Dr. John Terry officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

So so sorry Sharon, Stephen and Janie, Jimmy was a good man , he came up to dads about a month ago and sit on the patio and talked for awhile, so glad we got to spend a little time with him, it had been ages. My thoughts and prayers go out to each one of you and all the grandchildren and the great grand baby. If there is anything we can do please let us know...love you all❤️🙏
So sorry for your loss. He was a great man very kind and friendly. I sure will miss him and punkin at the store. He will forever be missed. Y'all are in our prayers May God wrap his arms around yall through this time and forward.
