“She was born with wings, and now she flies. “– Babe Pearson

Jessie Faye Roberson Pearson, 73, of Morganton, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 24, 2023 after a long battle with metastatic cancer. Jessie’s best friend and loving husband of 54 years, Arthur “Babe” Pearson, her daughter, Crystal Pearson Riles, and son-in-law Rodney J. Riles were all by her bedside as the sun broke through the rain clouds, revealing the bluest sky ushering her into Heaven.

Jessie loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and spent her life studying God’s word and growing in God’s glory. She was a humble, gentle woman, and was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior. Only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, friends, and the world at large.

Maw-Maw Jessie stood as the perfect example of what it means to be a Godly woman. She amazed everyone with her patience, wisdom, and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help.

She was devoted to her husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and was delighted in spending time with all of them. In addition to her family, she enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friend. Jessie had a passion for yard sales, and thrift shopping each weekend with her husband Babe. She enjoyed attending high school sporting events watching her grandchildren, traveling to the mountains, and having picnics, reading, gardening, planting flowers, and giving to others. She was known for making the best Kool-Aid.

Jessie Faye Roberson Pearson was born May 3, 1950 to Thomas Ardell Roberson, and Fannie Irene Queen Roberson in Rutherford County, NC. She is survived by her husband, Arthur “Babe” Pearson, daughter, Crystal Faye Pearson-Riles, son-in-law, Rodney J. Riles, grandson, Hunter Reid Riles, and great-granddaughter Mackenzie Cheyenne Hasson. She also has many other surviving family members, special friends, and those who called her “Maw-Maw Jessie.”

Preceded in death are Grandsons - Thomas Jerome (TJ) Riles, & Truman Gray Riles. Parents Thomas Ardell, & Fannie Irene Queen Roberson. Siblings Lessie Mae Roberson Whelchel, Steve “Pete” Roberson, and Clevie Dee Roberson.

She left a legacy to her family of God’s amazing love and grace, and was example to all her knew her. We look forward to the day we will be reunited in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Maw Maw Jessie held such a special space in the hearts of the ones who knew her. Everyone she encountered felt loved, recognized, and cared for. Her biscuits and gravy ( amongst other things) were impeccable. Every single human that encountered her is better because of her presence. Your warm spirit and love for all things will never leave my soul, and forever inspire me to be one to take the bull by the horns and make the best of this beautiful life that we were given ( no matter the circumstance). I love you, thank you for all you have done for all of us. Give those boys a huge hug for me ❤️ love you forever ❤️
