Jerry Wayne Whisenant, 52, of Valdese, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Born in Burke County, NC on October 30, 1970, he was the son of the late Jerry Leon Whisenant and Ossie Mae Hice Whisenant. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outside. He was a simple man and a loving brother who enjoyed spending time with family.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Terrie Whisenant and Barry Leon Whisenant; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I knew Jerry Wayne (also known as GW! to his frineds) since we were kids. He was great friend and I have so many great memories of the times we enjoyed together. He will be greatly missed.
Thoughts and prayers to the family of Jerry through this difficult time. I know his life was not in vain and he is at peace. Again lifting you up in prayer and thought that you find peace and tranquility.
Jerry Wayne was a life long friend to me and I will definitely miss him!!
