Jeff proudly served in the United States Air Force and was honorably dischargeda chapter of his life that reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism. After his military service, Jeff returned home and spent over 35 years working side by side with his brother Steve in the family business, Bairds Drywalla trade handed down from their father, Lester Baird. Together, they built not just walls, but a reputation for hard work, trust, and craftsmanship that stood the test of time.
He was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friendsomeone whose quiet strength and steadfast heart left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jeff lived by examplealways steady in both calm and storm, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a calm presence. His humility, wisdom, and sense of humor made him beloved to many, and his influence was quietly profound.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Carswell, and his two sons: Eric Baird (fiance Leigh Wingo) and Matthew Baird (wife Jaylee), who carry forward his legacy of love, resilience, and integrity. Jeff took tremendous pride in being a father, guiding his sons with patience and strength.
He was also a proud stepfather to Shonta Powell (husband Danny), Kannan Shew, and Chris Blankenship (husband Scottie)all of whom he embraced as his own.
Jeffs legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Caslin Baird, Will Baird, Ethan Baird, Caroline Baird, Kindred Wilson, Ace Baird, Madison McCall, Shelby Blankenship, Gavin Powell, and Lana Foss. Each of their lives has been shaped by his love, quiet leadership, and unwavering example.
He is also survived by his brothers: Robert Baird (wife Terressa), Steve Baird (wife Toni), and Bryan Baird (wife Brenda). Jeff shared a deep bond of loyalty and family with each of them, especially Steve, with whom he spent decades building and continuing the family trade.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lester Calloway Baird and Ruth Elizabeth Johnson Baird, as well as his dear sisters, Connie Minton and Dianne Setzer. Their spirits now reunite with his in peace.
Jeffs life was one of quiet impactmeasured not in accolades, but in the countless ways he faithfully showed up for the people and causes he loved. He gave of himself generously and without hesitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be determined. Family and friends will be invited to gather in Jeffs honor, to share stories, laughter, and the love he left behind.
Though he has left this world, Jeffrey William Baird will live on in the hearts and lives of those he loved so deeply and served so well.

Many condolences to the family of Jeffrey Baird. I know he will be missed so much by so many. My heart goes out to you as you all grieve the loss of a wonderful man.
Jeff was always a great friend to me and he will be greatly missed. Jeff and I served together in the US Air Force from approximately 1977-1981 in California. We became very close friends during this time and Jeff was the Best Man at my wedding in 1980 to my wife Brenda. The distance and time difference between North Carolina and California have separated us some over the years but we have stayed in close contact with one another and have had the opportunity for a few visits together overr the years in Georgia, North Carolina and Missouri. Our prayers and condolences go out to Shirley, Eric, Matthew and the entire Jeff Baird family, and his friends. We know you all miss Jeff and so do we. God's Blessings and Grace to you all! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Gene Blocker
