Jeffrey “Jeff” Powell, 57 of Hickory, NC passed away, Monday, February 23, 2026.
Born on July 6, 1968, he was the son of Mary Powell and the late Jack Powell. Jeff worked all his life in the furniture manufacturing industry, most recently at Hickory Chair. He was an avid collector of antiques, oddities and metal sculptures. Jeff loved working in flower gardens and enjoyed cooking and eating good meals with friends and family.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Mary Powell; sister Susan Beach (Warren); brothers, Jonathan Powell (Amy Henson), Jacob Powell (Caelee); nieces, Larren Williams (Robert), Taylor Gragg, McErynn Powell; nephew, Charles Powell; great-niece, Adaleigh Gragg; and his beloved K9 companion, Bella. Also left to cherish his memory are many dear friends and various other family members.
In addition to his father, Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Glenn Powell, Ettie and Robert Cobb, Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
