Jeanette Mamie Plemmons Woods, 85, of Morganton died Sunday, March 6, 2016. Born in McDowell County, NC on August 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Sam Plemmons and Epsie Fox Plemmons. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road. She loved working in her flower garden.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Manuel J. Woods of the home; sons, Bobby Woods and his wife, Susan, of Plackett, SC and Jerry Woods of Morganton; a daughter, Betty Woods of North Wilkesboro, NC; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Margaret Joretta Hughes and her husband, David, of Marion, NC.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe Woods.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 Bethel United Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road. The funeral will be held at the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
