Jeanette Bollinger Marshall, 81, formerly of Morganton passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Greensboro. Born in Burke County on October 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Kelly Rector Bollinger and Lilly Mae Bollinger. Jeanette was a member of First Baptist Church and the Morganton Women’s Club. She owned and operated Kay’s Custom Draperies until her retirement. Mrs. Marshall loved to play bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs.Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Teresa M. Mathison and her husband, Ray, of Greensboro, Kay M. Kilpatrick and her husband, Tim, of Morganton, and Susan Kendrick and her husband, Kim, of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Carrie Greeson, Ben Mathison, Curtis Kendrick, Kristina Kendrick, and Bryan Kilpatrick; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Shuffler of Morganton and Eveleen Ledford of Hickory.In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis B. Marshall; brothers, Charles, Marvin, and Kelly Bollinger, Jr.; and a sister, Edith Hollar. The family is rejoicing that she is now in heaven with her loved ones.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
