Janice “Jan” Kay Sisk Pinson, 79 of Morganton, NC went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her daughters, Dylan and Ruby, Monday, August 11, 2025. Born on January 31, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel Sisk. Jan was a member of Bethel Methodist Church where she was a devote Christian. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, guitar and music. Jan loved her family very much.
Jan is survived by her daughters, Beth Mumma (Scott), Rachel Roper, Billie Jo Avery (John); grandchildren, Joshua Farris, Kendall Farris, Dylan Pinson (Ruby), Jordan Pinson, Kelsey Pierce (Tristian), Thomas Saulman (Noelia), Buffy Mumma, Eli Avery, Ella Avery; 6 great-grandchildren; many nephews; and her wonderful caretaker Elaine Long, from Magnolia Lane, who was very special to Jan.
In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her husband; Bill “Squeak” Pinson sister, Betty Jo Sisk; brothers, Tony Martin Sisk, George Randy Sisk; nephew, TJ Sisk.
The family would like to thank the Cardinal Hospice and Magnolia Lane for the care they gave to Jan.
The family will receive friends from 11am until noon, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow at Bethel Methodist Church on Dysartsville Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Hospice.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I was very young when I met your mother mom. She was a sweet lady. I just wanted you Beth to knew w how sorry I am that your mom is gone. May God heal your breaking heart and fill the void with so many good memories.
