Janette Branch Putnam

Janette Branch Putnam, 80, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Born in Burke County, NC on September13, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert Howard Branch and Barbara Setzer Branch.

Janette was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hudson, and she retired from Broyhill Furniture. She loved her family, cooking, and camping.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeff Putnam and wife, Misty; bonus grandson, Shawn Walker and wife, Brandi; great-grandchild, Kaycee Walker; brothers, Bobby and Ray Branch; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Janette was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Louis” Putnam; brother, Jerry Branch; and sister, Hazel Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Horvath officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice.
