Janet Garrison, 62, of Morganton, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born on June 23, 1961 in Burke County to the late Carl Thomas Garrison, Jr. and Nina Faye Turner Garrison. Janet was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she played the piano, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She worked as a radiologist at Grace Hospital and at Dr. Croft’s office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sarah Garrison.

Janet is survived by her brother, Randal Garrison; three nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am, Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church. A memorial service will begin at 11am in the church with Dr. Danny Emory officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Hopewell Baptist Church Columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Randall, So sorry to hear about Janet. Janet was always someone that I could talk to about anything. Even though I was 2 yrs older than Janet we become close when I went to Hopewell,. I loved hearing and watching her play the piano. I will be praying for you and the family. Love Angela
