Jane Thompson Freeman

Jane Thompson Freeman, 71, of Pete Brittain Rd., Morganton, NC died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill following a brief illness. She was born in Montgomery County, NC on September 24, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Marvin and Callie Sanders Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Triplett; three brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Freeman, of the home; sons, Eugene Thomas and his wife, Kathy, of Mt. Gilead, NC, Charles Thomas and his wife, Lisa, and Jimmy Freeman, Jr., all of Morganton; daughters, Ann Freeman, of Troy, NC and Gloria Etters and her husband, Jim, of Valdese; brothers, Carson Thompson and Jimmy Thompson; sisters, Louise Morris and Irene Wood, all of Troy; grandchildren, Jessica Lowman, Rebekah Etters, Felicia Ward, Jamie Freeman, Josh Kellis, Tara Kellis, Archie Freeman, Roger Freeman, Jr., Judy Varner, and Crystal Welch; and fifteen great-grandchildren including Austyn and Garrett Ward.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour. At other times the family will be at the home, 734 Pete Brittain Rd., Morganton.
