James Lyle Pierce, 79, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Born in Carbondale, PA on May 28, 1946, he was the son of the late William and Ethel Pierce.

James was a veteran of the US Army. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He loved watching television and was known to “tv surf.”

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Jean Hand Pierce; sons, Dallas Talbott and John Pierce (Starla); daughter, Jennifer Talbott Fowler; grandchildren, Felecia Childers, Alex Nunez, Annabelle Talbott, Michaela Pierce, Jeremy Garcia, and Jared Garcia; and a great-grandson, Gunner Childers.

No services are planned at this time.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
