James Larry Parker, 76, of Morganton, NC went to be with his family in Heaven on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1949 in Burke County to the late James Parker and Frances Taylor Parker. He was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He managed Parker and Son Apple Orchard. James was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting for Indian artifacts. James loved his dog and staying at home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul J. Parker.

He is survived by a cousin, Hilda Bishop.

The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2025 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
