Leave a tribute for James “Jimmy” Hawkins.
Jimmy and my husband Dean were best friends for years. When Helene hit our area, we had so much damage it was overwhelming. Jimmy brought equipment to pick up fallen timber around our house. Dean was so relieved to see him that he almost cried. Dean passed away on July 12, 2025. Every Wednesday, I would get a call from Jimmy asking if there was anything I needed done. I know Dean and Jimmy are together now.
Our sincerest condolences go out to Jimmy's family. We know he will be sorely missed. We have known Jimmy for many years, having worked with him, and been close friends for all of those years. Jimmy has been faithful to call and check on us almost weekly since our declining health. He has always been faithful to pray for us and put us on his church's prayer list. He has worked for us on many occasions and always told us if he was needed to just give him a call. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart." Our prayers will be with the family. Ralph and Joy Keaton
To Josh and Wendy, my sincere sympathies to you and your families. I know this has been so difficult to accept when it wasn’t expected. Never easy for anyone no matter what the circumstances are. Please know that all the many memories you have with your dad in time will help you to accept what you weren’t able to change. Love you and will pray for you at this time. Your friend, Karen Brown
