We are so sorry to hear of Jay's passing.

We had some really good times Jay, you will definitely be missed and the mentorship you gave me is priceless you will live in every project I do and every wire I pull. We will miss your jokes and all positive things you brought to the table so many times... I enjoyed the time me, you and Herb spent doing electrical and the time spent with you and Eric talking music and just being happy. You lived life your way and definitely to the fullest God Speed... Brother until we meet again...

My sincere condolences to Jay’s daughter and family. He was my first love in 1976. He taught me how to drive a straight drive, going up a hill, Starmount Circle, Morganton. His mom & dad and brother Eric were like a second family, now they are celebrating together in heaven.
Sending heartfelt condolences to Jay's family who he truly loved. I'm going to miss Jay, our conversations, his jokes, his/our shenanigans that sometimes pushed boundaries. He was an exceptional and talented commercial/residential licensed electrician, as well as an impressive salt water, fresh water or competition carp pond fisherman as he would inform others while smiling like Cool Hand Luke. Jay's was as unique as his music genre, Vern Godsen to Rick James back to Clapton. Lol... Shortly after Herb and Martha moved to Starmount in the 70's, Jay and Eric fit right into our neighborhood crew with a wide age range. Something exciting going on usually at several residences at once, daylight to dark 365....you should have seen it in color! In this timeline, Jay was looked upon as Starmounts own James Dean. Many great memories with Jay, including a few epic road trips to Yaupon beach. Our last conversations bring me peace that we all will see Jay again...the new and restored Jay. Godbless his soul. Jay is going to be missed, but never forgotten to those who knew him.

So sad to hear about Jays passing. Growing we had lots of fun in High School and at steel Creek. Praying for him and his family
I’ll keep your memory alive and well until we meet again! With love,

Rest Easy My Friend.

Oh Jay, I will miss you terribly. Like I said I can only imagine the reunion when you walked through the gates of Heaven and was greeted by your mom, dad and brother. Yall are together again. Your trials here on earth are done now is your time to bask in the glory of our Heavenly Father for eternity. Pure, clean and forgiven as we all will be one day. We will all be fine, we have a strong family. The one thing that will never die is our love no matter how far. I can see it now you and Eric on the south side of Heaven playing your guitars. Special thanks to Brandy Suttlemyre for all the years of care you have given Jay. Jay I love you my sweet cousin.
