James Albert Norville, 74, of Morganton passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 while surrounded by his family. Born in Rutherford County, NC on July 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Thomas Crawford Norville and Roberta Mae Laughter Norville. James attended Mulls Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on small engines but most enjoyed buying, selling, and trading. James was a strong, hard-working man; he was loved by many.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, James is survived by his wife, Carolyn Chapman Norville; son, Allen Norville; daughters, Amy Norville Garrison (Todd) and Trish Norville; granddaughters, Haley Norville MacLachlan (Bill), Molly Garrison, Melody Garrison, Jazman Norville, and Faith Norville; siblings, Roby Norville, Shirley Norville Freeman, and Jo Anne Norville Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
Services for Mr. Norville will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mulls Grove Baptist Church.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
