Jackie Royster Buff

Jackie Royster Buff, 83, of Morganton passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clem Royster, Sr. and Alma Bowen Royster. Jackie was a long-time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she had served many years as nursery director. She retired from Drexel Heritage after 20+ years of service. Mrs. Buff was also an avid sewer.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Buff is survived by her husband, James William Buff of the home; daughters, Candace B. Helms and her husband, Rusty, of Drexel, NC and Sherri B. Newton and her husband, Chris, of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Lyndsey Mander and her husband, Wesley, of Charlotte, NC and Adam Newton of Brooklyn, NY; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Royster of Polkville, NC and Marie Royster of Fallston, NC.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Burt Wilbur and Rev. Dr. John Mason officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
