Jack Adam Hollifield, 87, of Morganton passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019. Born in McDowell County, NC on January 19, 1932, he was the son of the late George Rufus Hollifield and Annie Vesta Baucomb Hollifield. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
A kind and loving husband and father, Mr. Hollifield is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nell Hollifield; daughter, Annie Geneva Hollifield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Hollifield and Rev. Milton A. Hollifield, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Milton Hollifield, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the NC National Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Friends for Animals, P.O. Box 1884, Morganton, NC 28680.
