Irvin David “Tig” Butler

Irvin David “Tig” Butler, 75, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, August 14, 2019. He was born June 1, 1944 in Burke County to the late Marvin Butler and Martha Elizabeth Carswell Butler. He loved eating pizza and ice cream and coloring. He loved his family dearly.

“Tig” is survived by his brothers, Herman Butler (Judy), Pinkney Butler (Debby) both of Morganton, and Frank Butler (Becky) of Connelly Springs, NC; sister, Ruby Long of Newton, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Walkers Chapel Baptist Church. The service will begin at 2:00pm in the church with Rev. Danny McNeilly and Rev. Micah Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
