Ingrid Zimmer Timmerman, 66, of Morganton, NC died peacefully on March 18, 2010 in her sleep. Born April 7, 1943 in Stetten, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Erwin Ernst Zimmer and Maria Sohm Zimmer. Ingrid was a certified trilingual interpreter in German, English, and French for Pan Am Airlines and loved traveling to all the places her job took her. She enjoyed spending time baking kugelhupf cakes for friends and family, working crossword puzzles, and playing crazy eights with her grandchildren. In her youth, she painted, snow skied, played ping pong, and grew many varieties of flowers. She loved to write letters and cards. Prior to her illness she was very active in the Episcopal Church. She was a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King, and thoroughly enjoyed many Cursillo weekends.Ingrid is survived by her son, Dr. Michael Gould and his wife, Elizabeth of Morganton; a daughter, Michele Greenway and her husband, Eric of Moncks Corner, SC; her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Oma", Benjamin Gould, Nicholas Gould, Anna Beth Gould, and Andrea Greenway. Our dearest Ingrid will be sorely missed.
