Imogene Elizabeth Camp Orders, 89, of Morganton passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Theodore Camp and Alma Cannon Camp.  Imogene was a member of Zion Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was a graduate of Drexel High School.  She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, traveling to the beach, gardening, and canning.  She worked at Skyland Textiles for a number of years and retired from Broughton Hospital as an HCT.

Imogene is survived by a son-in-law, Bill Gentry; grandson, Scott Gentry; granddaughter, Kelli Gentry; great-grandsons, Devin T. Shuping and Connor S. Gentry; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Gentry; and a great-great-granddaughter, Keira Caldwell.

In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, J. P. Orders, and a daughter, Janice C. Gentry.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Zion Memorial United Methodist Church.  The funeral will be held at 3pm in the church with the Rev. Dr. George Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
