Ignacio Cordova, 34, and his son, Ignacio “Adrien” Cordova, 14, both of Morganton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

Ignacio was born in Mexico City on July 31, 1982 to Juan Manuel Cordova and Nora Maldonado.  He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill, SC.  Ignacio was a loving husband and father who enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.

Adrien was born in Caldwell County, NC on December 14, 2002 to Ignacio Cordova and Candace Simental.  He was a loving child who enjoyed basketball, football, and spending time with his friends.  He especially loved his grandmother’s cooking.

Both Ignacio and Adrien had a sense of humor and loved to make others laugh.  They enjoyed joking around between themselves and anyone they were around.

Ignacio is survived by his wife, Candace Simental; children, Xavier Simental, Jazlynn Cordova, and Jaleyha Cordova; brothers, Edgar, Armando, Juan, and Alexander Cordova; parents, Juan Manuel Cordova and Nora Maldonado; and a number of other extended family.

Adrien is survived by his mother, Candace Simental; siblings, Xavier Simental, Jazlynn Cordova, and Jaleyha Cordova; uncles, Edgar, Armando, Juan, and Alexander Cordova; great-grandparents, Viola Cook and Aaron Cook of Morganton; and a number of other extended family.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.
