Ida R. Zappa Bradley and I go back to when she was born and I was preschool. Ida Rudell Smith was my mother Annie Laura Smith Bollinger's sister. Those two ladies and my maternal grandmother Mattie Epley Smith, along with Aunt Rudell's husband Don Zappa, father of little Ida R., who quickly became Snooky, shortened later to Snook. We had many years of visiting and playing, collecting Beatle magazine photos and going to see Beatles movies and Lord of the Rings. Together we wrote movie scenario involving the Beatles. My years at Appalachian, followed by years of teaching in Caldwell County, took up much of time and her marriage refocused her life's journey. We were each other's "sisters" in spite of the age difference, and I still have pictures she sketched of things we shared, like pets and tv, comic books and movies.
